The Instant Gardens we offer are from a company based in West Cornwall, which organically grows and distributes vegetable and herb seedlings throughout the UK direct to our customer’s doors.
Our organic natural growing system enables the customer to simply and instantly create their own vegetable garden with the benefits of eliminating the precious time and effort involved in a home seedling establishment.
Customers have the option to choose from a range of complete growing vegetable packs or the ability to select a mixture of vegetable seedlings that suit their own requirements.
Organic from the outset
All of our seeds are sourced from Soil Association approved organic seed suppliers.
The compost in which the vegetable seedlings are grown is approved for use in Organic systems by the Soil Association.
Our plants are grown naturally under a fully organic regime.
Even the water we use on the plants is taken from our river just 50 metres below the greenhouses.
In most instances each plant is grown in its own individual biodegradable pot; this system has been chosen for the following reasons:
For growth:
It provides a very dense and active root hair system.
Growth is improved.
Transplant shock is minimised.
Establishment speeds are improved.
No root deformation occurs.
Continued plant development is excellent.
Ecological advantages
100 % biodegradable organic product.
After its useful life the pot can be put onto the compost heap and transformed into humus to be put back into the soil.
Compared with a plastic pot there is no accumulated waste for landfill sites or in the case of combustion no harmful emissions.
Furthermore all of our packaging systems have been chosen in order that they are as ecologically friendly as possible. Recycled cardboard is used wherever practicable and this in turn can be used again or put onto the compost heap to be broken down. Where non cardboard packaging is required if possible we try to source recycled products.
