Pre-germinating Seeds
Pre-germinating seeds means to sprout them before you sow them. All you need is: water paper towels rubber bands plastic bags labels Soak the seeds in room-temperature water overnight. Spread 2 layers of dampened paper towels on a flat surface. Place your seeds about 1 inch apart (2.5 cm) and carefully roll up the paper towel. Use a rubber band to keep each towel in the shape of a tube and label it well Place the rolls in a plastic bag and label it as well. Loosely close the bag because the seeds will need some air to germinate. Most seed packets list how long germination takes but you can sneak a peek at them each day. Check to see if the rolls are drying out and re-wet the paper towels if they need it. When little roots just start to show your sprouts are ready for planting in mini-rows using the Goop method. Some seeds can take up to a week to germinate so be patient.
